Description
Delicious, red fruit-flavoured fizz from a legendary house. Supremely quaffable and likely to arouse romantic notions in even the hardest of hearts.
Winemaker's Notes: As the “pink” expression of Brut Carte Jaune, Veuve Clicquot Rosé shares the same structure: To complete this base, the Cellar Master adds a blend of red wines sourced from selected black grapes to ensure the marvellous balance of this unique Rosé wine. Pinot Noir dominates (50 to 55%), ensuring the intensity of the Clicquot style. Chardonnay (28 to 33%) lends finesse and elegance. Pinot Meunier (15 to 20%) rounds out the blend. Priceless reserve wines (from 25% to 35%, sometimes as much as 40%), both white and red, ensure the continuity of the House style.
It offers the eye radiant colour, its nose is intense and elegant. Notes of raspberry, wild strawberry and cherry predominate, followed by a touch of dried fruits and pastry. In the mouth, the attack is powerful, leaving behind a harmony of fruits. Elegant and sensual, the wine offers exceptional balance and surprising intensity.
Critical Acclaim:
- This seems drier than its stablemate, the famous Yellow Label, and is the better for it. There is an urgent freshness here, driven by red currants and tight plum skin flavors. It is lively but full in the mouth, and shows just the right bottle age. Score: 91 points -- Wine Enthusiast
- This has the bright savor of a strawberry dipped in sea salt. It’s light, with a hint of smokiness to balance the fruit. Together with the fine bubbles, that fruit savor will clean up after cured sausages and other charcuterie. Score: 91 points -- Wine & Spirits
