Margaret River
Margaret River is Western Australia's premier wine producing region, and it has built its reputation on outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon that rivals the best in the world. The proximity of the Indian Ocean has a moderating effect on the climate - a maritime effect that invites comparisons with Bordeaux. Shiraz, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon are also successfully grown here.
