An Elevated Offering

Nestled 2,000 feet above Silicon Valley in the captivating Santa Cruz Mountains, Mount Eden Vineyards stands as a beacon of California's boutique winemaking history. Established in 1945, this storied estate specializes in crafting small batches of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon, boasting the longest lineage of estate-bottled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in California.

An International Pedigree

The history of Mount Eden Vineyards is intertwined with the groundbreaking efforts of French winemaker Paul Masson and further enriched by current winemaker Jeffrey Patterson. While Masson introduced the traditional French méthode champenoise to California, Patterson is lauded for his focus on wine growing over winemaking, emphasizing the gentle and natural handling of grapes.

A Terroir Unlike Any Other

The estate's vineyards are rooted in infertile Franciscan shale soil, presenting a uniquely challenging terroir that results in incomparable wines. Situated 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the estate enjoys a long, sun-soaked growing season above the fog line. This combination allows for a slow, steady maturation of grapes, culminating in wines of remarkable depth and flavour.

Expanding Horizons

Mount Eden Vineyards does not limit itself to its estate offerings. Exceptional Chardonnays from Edna Valley, particularly the Wolff Vineyard, are also part of its repertoire. In 2007, the winery acquired an additional 55-acre estate in the Saratoga foothills, known as Domaine Eden, as a continuation of its commitment to world-class winemaking.

A Commitment to Excellence

From the days of the legendary vintner Martin Ray to the modern-day craftsmanship under Jeffrey Patterson, Mount Eden Vineyards has never wavered in its pursuit of quality. Whether for the seasoned connoisseur or the novice wine enthusiast, Mount Eden Vineyards offers an unparalleled experience of legacy, craftsmanship, and sublime taste.
