Few things can be as romantic as sharing a glass of wine on a Venetian piazza, taking in the sights and sounds of the famous city. The wines that supply the trattorias of Venice come from the surrounding province to the east, the Veneto. There, near Verona, the regions of Soave (for white wine), Valpolicella (for red wine) and a handful of lesser known appellations, supply the city and the export market with wines that pair beautifully with Venetian dishes.
