Grown on a steep, west-facing limestone-and-clay slope worked entirely by hand, Bellen is widely regarded as the estate's benchmark Pinot Noir. Wild cherry, cranberry, and rose petal aromas mingle with forest floor and warm spice. The palate is silky and finely etched, with bright red fruit, subtle earthiness, and a mineral tension that gives the wine real focus. Fermented with roughly 40% whole clusters and aged about 15 months in mostly used French oak, it balances power and restraint in a way that regularly draws Burgundy comparisons.
