The organic Palmento Costanzo 2019 Etna Rosso Contrada Santo Spirito is almost all Nerello Mascalese with a tiny 10% of Nerello Cappuccio. This wine shows nice richness and softness that comes in the form of black cherry and blackberry. The 2019 vintage to my mind always offers extra concentration, and this quality comes through clearly in this wine. Fruit is harvested at 720 to 780 meters above sea level in a picturesque vineyard with tightly spaced chestnut wood poles that make for a beautiful landscape. This wine sees a very special aging process in precious French oak Ovum (an egg-shaped oak vessel) for 24 months. This winery is a must-see destination, especially if you love winemaking technology and all the prerequisite toys (from the past and the present).
