John & Michael Shenk founded Shenk’s distillery in Pennsylvania in 1753, later becoming Bomberger's, and eventually renamed Michter's. After closing and reopening, Michter's finally closed in 1990. Michter’s US*1 Bourbon is a small-batch bourbon made from 20 barrels, using specific methods such as a 103 barrel entry proof and 18-month seasoning for the barrels. Rested for 15 minutes, it has a nose of cherry, cinnamon, and cedar, a taste rich with brown sugar, and a lingering finish featuring black pepper spice and leather, offering a warm sensation without a harsh burn.
