The 2005 Tinto Gran Reserva Classica is composed of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Garnacha sourced from old vines in the Sierra de Toloño, Sonsierra area, Rioja Alta. Aged for 3.5 years in Bordeaux French oak barrels (50% new), this garnet red wine spent an additional ten years in bottle before release. On the nose, ripe fruit notes unfold, accompanied by dried flowers, figs and balsamic hints layered over an oaky core. Dry, rich and still energetic with ample tannins, the palate is mild and offers developing tertiary flavors.
