Moderate reduction is enough to push the fruit to the background. Otherwise, the sleek, delicious and more delineated, if less seductively textured, larger-bodied flavors also exude a bracing minerality that seems to build on the firmer, and finer, finale that delivers excellent length. As is usually the case with this wine, it is both more compact and more youthfully austere and while promising, is clearly going to need cellaring.
