Produced with grapes from Maule, the 2019 D.O. Matorral Chileno is a blend of 60% Carignan, 30% Garnacha and 10% País, very different from previous vintages. It fermented in concrete and matured in concrete eggs for eight months. It has a nose of flowers and herbs, like the countryside in the spring, along with pollen and spices. The palate is balanced and very tasty, with fine tannins. This is completely different from the previous vintage, and in a way, it makes a lot more sense like this.
