Matured in 25% new oak and completely de-stemmed, the 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a slightly earthy, mulch-scented bouquet that needs to coalesce more during the remainder of its élevage. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, sweet and slightly confit in style, revealing orange zest and marmalade notes toward the seductive finish. Not intellectual, but it is certainly delicious.
