From one of the South Okanagan's benchmark estates, this is Pinot Noir shaped by desert diurnal swing — hot, luminous days tempered by sharply cooling nights that preserve acid and aromatic lift. The 2018 growing season was warm and generous, and the wine reflects it: a medium ruby core edging garnet at the rim, with a nose of ripe Bing cherry, raspberry coulis and macerated strawberry framed by rose petal, dried tea leaf and a whisper of clove. Time in French oak lends sandalwood, cocoa nib and a subtle smoky char without masking fruit. The palate is riper and more fleshy than Old World counterparts, carrying satisfying mid-palate weight while retaining fine-grained, silky tannins and a bright line of red-fruited acidity through the finish. Secondary development is beginning to show — forest floor, cured meat, dried cranberry — placing it in a rewarding drinking window now through the near term. Serve lightly chilled, 14–16°C, and decant briefly.
Pairing: cedar-planked salmon, duck breast with cherry reduction, mushroom risotto, or medium-aged Gruyère.
