An expressive and agreeably fresh nose combines notes of red cherry, currant, earth and a whiff of exotic spice. The palate impression is one of generosity, even opulence, as the powerful and muscular medium-bodied flavors really fan out on the saline-inflected finish that also just goes on and on. This moderately austere effort is a classic Baudes and as such, a wine that's going to require extended forbearance. In a word, outstanding.
