Azelia 2019 Barbera d'Alba Punta 750ml

Punta is the name of the vineyard, located just behind the winery in Castiglione Falleto at the top of the hill. Azelia have sadly removed some row this year due to extending the winery, however intend to replant on top of the new winery's roof. It means we will go a few years with reduced availability on Punta. With approximately 6,000 bottles before these rows were removed, the production over the next few years will be even smaller. 60 year old vines. This is stunningly delicious Barbera. Milk chocolate, sweet spice, Christmas cake all meld together in the mouth. There's no rough edges here, the palate is really well rounded with a lovely core of minerality and salinity that carries a moreish body of purple fruit. The finish is long - superb.
