Inky ruby. Aromas of ripe, smoke-accented dark berries and pungent flowers are sharpened by building mineral and spice flourishes. Spicy and broad on the palate, offering energetic black currant, bitter cherry and violet pastille flavors along with subtle olive and cracked pepper nuances. Tightens with air and finishes spicy and long, displaying sharp clarity, chewy, building tannins and lingering florality. This fruit comes from granitic soils in Limony, which is at the extreme southern end of the northern sector of Saint-Joseph.
