This rare and powerful cuvée is crafted from Couturier’s oldest Chardonnay vines, which average over 90 years of age. It pours a deep, lustrous gold. The nose is intense and brooding, revealing aromas of ripe mirabelle plum, candied lemon peel, and acacia honey, complicated by notes of warm brioche and a signature flinty reduction. On the palate, the old-vine concentration is immediately apparent - dense and unctuous - yet lifted by a spine of electric acidity that drives a long, savory finish marked by saline minerality.
A profound wine that requires a meal to shine. Pair it with lobster thermidor, roasted veal with morels, monkfish in a saffron cream sauce, or a ripe Epoisses cheese.
