The 2021 Barbaresco Serraboella is a potent, brooding wine that captures all the drive that is typical of this sector in Neive. A blast of dark red cherry fruit, leather, spice, tobacco, menthol and dried herbs stains the palate. Time in the glass brings out striking inner perfume and mid-palate pliancy. Bright acids and veins of tannin support this vivid, layered Barbaresco from Barale. I would give it a few years in bottle.
