Markovitis 2020 Naoussa Xinomavro is a beautifully traditional expression of Xinomavro, opening with complex aromas of sour cherry, sun-dried tomato, rose petals, and wild herbs layered with earthy notes of leather, mushroom, and olive tapenade. The palate is medium-bodied yet structured, showing vibrant acidity and firm but refined tannins that frame flavours of red plum, cranberry, spice, and savoury dried herbs. Subtle oak influence adds hints of clove and cedar without overshadowing the wine’s purity and mineral character. Reminiscent of a youthful Nebbiolo in both elegance and tension, the finish is long, lifted, and deeply savoury. This distinctive Greek red pairs exceptionally well with lamb, roasted eggplant, mushroom dishes, and slow-braised meats.
