A small natural-wine outfit farming fourteen organic, regeneratively worked acres above the Similkameen River, topped up with purchased organic Okanagan fruit. The valley's wind and rock-reflected heat make organic viticulture genuinely workable here. House practice for whites runs to direct pressing, native ferments, extended time on gross lees in neutral French puncheons, and bottling unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur. Gewürztraminer's lychee, rose and ginger tempered by Pinot Gris's pear and orchard weight. Textural, faintly hazy, dry and savoury rather than sweetly perfumed.
Pairing: roast pork, Thai curry, washed-rind cheese, charcuterie.
