The estate's 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio Rosso is quite a bit darker and richer than most years. Black cherry, plum, spice, pine and menthol note flesh out in the glass. A wine of substance and textural richness, the 2011 is a great example of the broad, ample wines made in this vintage. It will be interesting to see if the 2011 finds more focus with time in bottle, as the 2010 did.
