After the January 2024 deep freeze devastated Okanagan crops, Hester Creek looked south, sourcing from Washington's Columbia Valley — a vast, arid, rain-shadowed AVA whose hot days and cold desert nights suit Chardonnay well, delivering ripeness without loss of acidity. Winemaker Mark Hopley applies the same restrained house hand: fruit-forward, gently oaked, no heavy-handed intervention. Pale gold. Yellow apple, pear and citrus over melon, subtle vanilla and a light creamy leesiness. Medium-bodied and rounded, with fresh acidity and a clean, easygoing finish. Serve 10–12°C.
Pairing: roast chicken, seafood pasta, pork tenderloin, brie.
