Cornas

The steep, terraced, hillside vineyards of Cornas were renowned for their wine as far back as the reign of Charlemagne, and after a period of neglect in the early 20th Century, Cornas is again among the most sought after appellations of the Rhone. Always 100% Syrah, Cornas produces full-throttle reds, though the style varies from modern fruit-forward styles raised in new oak, and the more traditional, earthy style using whole bunch fermentation and large neutral vessels.
