The ready-to-drink arm of Cervecería Astilleros, the Mexican-owned brewery in North Vancouver's Shipyards district — astilleros is Spanish for shipyards, so the name is a straight nod to the neighbourhood. Part of a four-strong margarita line alongside Salted Lime, Paloma and Jalapeño Pineapple, all built on agave spirit at 6.9% abv. Ripe mango leads, sweet and tropical but cut by a clean citric lift that stops it turning syrupy; the agave shows through on a smooth, dry-ish finish. Straightforward, well-balanced and considerably more convincing than most canned margaritas. 355 ml.
Pairing: tacos al pastor, ceviche, chips and guacamole, patio afternoons.
