A balanced, medium-bodied wine, the 2021 Château Montus is based on a blend of Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon from more pebbly soils. Its deep ruby hue is followed by ripe currant and black cherry fruits intermixed with cedary herbs, spice, and leafy tobacco. It's focused on the palate, with a nicely balanced, elegant mouthfeel and present, ripe tannins. I love its complexity today and it's drinking nicely, yet it will certainly keep through 2036 if you're so inclined. Drink 2026-2036.
