A library bottle from one of BC's coolest modern vintages. 2011 ran late and cold across the valley, ripening into November and giving reds of lower alcohol and sharper acidity than the south Okanagan usually manages, conditions that flattered Pinot Noir more than most. Handpicked and hand-sorted, gravity-fed through the Wyse family's cellar south of Oliver. At fifteen years this is well into tertiary: garnet fading at the rim, dried cranberry and sour cherry giving way to forest floor, mushroom and tobacco. Tannins resolved, acidity still framing. Drink now.
Pairing: roast duck, mushroom risotto, coq au vin, aged Comté.
