Toro is a wild and remote wine growing region on the Duero river in Castilla Y Leon. Toro has been known in Spain for its red wines in medieval times, but in recent decades has undergone a modernizing revolution that has brought it into line with Spain's more internationally known regions. The wines come from the Tinto de Toro grape, a local variant of Tempranillo.

Elias Mora 2018 Toro 750ml

A smooth, rich texture carries blackberry and currant flavors in this thick red, with earthy and smoky notes adding depth. Round tannins and gentle acidity are balanced, in a softer style. -- TM, Wine Spectator, 2020
