Toro is a wild and remote wine growing region on the Duero river in Castilla Y Leon. Toro has been known in Spain for its red wines in medieval times, but in recent decades has undergone a modernizing revolution that has brought it into line with Spain's more internationally known regions. The wines come from the Tinto de Toro grape, a local variant of Tempranillo.
