Scout Vineyard 2022 Syrah Blend 750ml

This is an alternate, lighter version of our currently available 2022 Syrah (with the pink label). The grapes are from our same Scout Vineyard, farmed using regenerative practices. The 2022 growing season started off much cooler and the grapes maintained higher acids through harvest. The grapes were destemmed and added to qvevri, where they wild-fermented for 10 days on the skins. Then, gently pressed back into qvevri to age for one year, and an additional 30 months of aging in neutral barrels. No sulphur added. No fining or filtering.  

If you are familiar with our regular Syrah release, which tends to be more savoury (classic black olive, cured meats), you will notice this version is brighter, with plenty of red berried fruit and aromatics. The acids have integrated nicely with the longer aging, tannins are gentle, and there is still a savoury undertone. We recommend drinking slightly chilled.
