From Somontano, in north east Spain's Aragon region, this is the rarely seen indigenous grape moristel, grown nearly exclusively here. These vines were planted in 1976, and was fermented with 15% whole bunches before 100+ days in 500L oak barrels and concrete. Pouring a lightly hazy crimson hue, this light (12%) red dances on the palate with pomegranate, crunchy plum, wild cherry, and a kiss of lifting spritz. Tannins are slight, and all seasoned with wild fresh and dried herbs. A charmer, and beauty example of new wave Spain.
