Okanagan Spirits BRBN Whisky 750ml

Okanagan Spirits opened in 2004 as BC's only distillery, and the father-and-son Dyck team have since built it into the province's craft benchmark. BRBN follows bourbon's rulebook — virgin American oak, corn-led mash — but the execution is distinctly Canadian: 54% Coldstream Valley grain corn and 46% malted barley, milled onsite, distilled in German copper pot stills, and aged a minimum of five years, well past bourbon's two. The high malt fraction makes it something of a bourbon–single malt hybrid. Amber-gold. Toasted corn and buttered popcorn on the nose, with vanilla, maple, allspice and orange peel; sweet, rounded and easy-going, warming rather than hot. 40% abv.

Serve: neat, on the rocks, or in an Old Fashioned.
