The 2018 Chianti Classico is fabulous. In 2018, the Chianti Classico is a pretty big wine for this estate, but it's also a serious wine that absolutely needs time in bottle to find its center. Black cherry, tobacco, licorice, cloves and menthol showcase the darker, wilder side of Sangiovese, an impression reinforced by tannins that are potent and burly. I love the 2018 for its weight, substance and faithful expression of a house style.

Good taste and warm welcome in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. Monteraponi is an ancient medieval village, built around three square-based towers dating back to the 10th century. The winery is situated on the top of a 470-meter-high hill and dominates the valley below, which slopes down towards the Arbia river. The winery produces Chianti Classico wines, Chianti Vinsanto, olive oil, Grappa. All products are certified organic by ICEA Italia.
