The winter of 2022/23 brought a very chilly spell, followed by a very hot and dry summer.
We were not affected by smoke at our southern location, and the vines produced a high-quality crop of fruit.
The half acre of new vines we planted in 2023 survived the following freezes and are thriving well and we look forward to a small crop from these this season.
On the nose, distinct notes of white pepper and savoury spice followed by aromas of blackcurrants. After another swirl concentrated blueberries persist.
Well integrated oak and gentle tannins allow the varietal to shine, while the juiciness compels another sip.
Delicious now with roast duck breast, but will age beautifully for another 5 to 10 years.
