Predominantly from 28- to 30-year-old vines from a family selection (the berries are shaped like olives rather than berries), vinified in large oak casks and bottled in April this year, the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Ried Steinbach 1STK is very clear and fresh on the deep and intense, spicy/phenolic, slightly iodine-inflected and flinty nose. Full-bodied and dense yet refined and balanced on the palate, this is a juicy, intense and savory, seriously structured and tannic yet also stimulating and saline-finishing Sauvignon with great potential. 13% stated alcohol. Glass stopper.
