LaStella sits on the east bench of Osoyoos Lake, minutes from the border, named for the starry desert nights and run on frankly Italian lines. This takes its cue from Piedmont's Moscato d'Asti: a blend of Moscato Bianco a Petits Grains, Muscat Ottonel and Orange Muscat grown on heavy clay and gravel in the Osoyoos Lake District, picked early and left gently frizzante, with sweetness balanced against desert-grown acidity. Pale lemon. Orange blossom, nectarine skin, rose petal and melon, explosively perfumed. Light, spritzy and nimble at roughly 9% abv.
Pairing: aperitif, brunch, green curry, fresh fruit and sponge cake.
