(aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 25% of new): Brilliant ruby. Spicy, deeply pitched aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and cracked pepper, with a hint of mocha emerging slowly. Sweet, fleshy and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering sappy dark fruit and floral pastille flavors and a musky licorice quality. The floral element builds with aeration and carries through a very long, supple finish that's framed by smooth, building tannins.
