A polished, unmistakably Burgundian introduction to the region from the Savigny-lès-Beaune house, drawn from young-vine fruit sourced across the Côte d'Or and Côte Chalonnaise and shaped by a split élevage — roughly 40% raised in barrel for fourteen months, the balance held in stainless steel, with the final assemblage made after maturation. The 2022 growing season, warm and generous after the frost-shortened 2021, shows in the glass: a bright ruby-garnet core and an open, immediately appealing nose of red cherry, wild strawberry and crushed raspberry, edged with dried rose petal, cinnamon bark and a faint whisper of woodsmoke from the barrel portion. The palate is medium-bodied and round, with sappy red-fruit sweetness carried on fine-grained, well-integrated tannins and just enough acidity to keep the mid-palate lifted rather than plush. Gentle earth and forest-floor tones emerge with air, leading into a clean, moderately persistent finish. Best served lightly chilled at 14–15°C, ideally with a short decant. Pairs beautifully with roast chicken, duck breast, mushroom risotto, charcuterie, or soft washed-rind cheeses. Drinking well now through 2028.
