The 2022 Pinot Noir La Savante hails from a vineyard planted at 4,760 feet in Gualtallary, Uco Valley and was aged for 12 months in 15% new French oak barrels. A vibrant ruby red in hue. The reductive aromatic profile features gunpowder and herbal aromas such as huacatay and sage over subtle layers of fruit. Lean and dry on the palate, the taut, tart mouthfeel highlights the delicate structure before a long-lasting finish driven by the vibrant acidity. The 2022 is a lovely expression of a high-altitude terroir, especially the calcareous soils found in the Andean foothills.
