“The 2023 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru aims for a more malic, Granny Smith style and pulls it off well.  There is a soupcon of “cool glade” that will make this appeal to Chablis classicist.  The palate is taut and fresh on the entry.  This is crisp and linear in style.  You could argue that it doesn’t quite delivery the same charm as Gautherin’s other cuvees on the finish – perhaps this is just cropped a little too high?  However, it improves dramatically with aeration and gains more minerality and tension after an hour.”
