The immediate proximity to Vosne is unmistakable as the overtly ripe nose is decidedly spicy while displaying additional nuances of both red and dark berries, earth and a whiff of leather quality. The markedly supple and almost easy-going middle weight flavors possess good energy before culminating in a mildly bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that slowly tightens up as it sits on the palate. Here too there is a touch of warmth and while this is certainly delicious, it's not clear that the slightly raspy bitter cherry pit character will successfully age out. If it does, my rating will definitely be too conservative.
