The cool climes of Pipers River provide a vivid scaffolding of acidity here, the ripe stone and citrus fruit characters stretched taut like a canvas across its frame. Hints of clotted cream, lemon curd, vanillin oak, dried honey, fig and white flowers in the mix, too. It's an expansive wine yet acidity hauls those rich tones back into line, notes of oatmeal and toast appearing as the wine fades off with a persistent finish.
