Anthony Buchanan 2023 La Bise Rose 750ml

The apple portion of this wine are Dabinett, Michelins and Stokes. The grapes consisted of Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon blanc, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. The apples were picked and pressed in Summerland at Summerland Heritage Cider. The cider maker there is a friend of mine and she understands my philosophies and was kind enough to offer some help. Once the freshly juiced apples arrived at the winery, we kept it cool and allowed to settle overnight before racking to a temperature-controlled tank. Fermentation lasted roughly about 11 days while the grape portion were slightly longer. Once malolactic was completed we started our blending trials looking for the perfect balance and flavours before assembling the final cuvee. This wine is bursting with baked ripe apples, pears, tea leaf, strawberry and shaved ginger, leading to a fruity mid palate and long juicy finish. We've called this our breakfast wine before, but I also think this could be a nice wine to enjoy on your patio. Cheers, Anthony
