Alois 2019 Aglianico Ponte Pelligrino 750ml

The Aglianico grape variety is mostly cultivated in Campania and Basilicata regions but it can also be found in the regions of Puglia, Molise and Sardinia. Its origins and its name belong to Ancient Greece and the name that indicates its origins “Ellenikon”, “Hellenico” “Hellanico” to Aglianico.

The variety is vigorous and productive.

The bunch is quite large and compact; it presents grapes with thick skin of an intense blue colour and rich in rime.

The Aglianico has a ruby red colour more or less intense with orange reflexes after aging.

Having a dry, sapid taste, balanced with young tannin that improves after aging in oak barrels; it reaches a good alcohol content and a good level of acidity with its peculiar taste of liquorice.
