The 2006 Barolo Le Coste is a much darker, powerful wine than the San Giuseppe. Black cherries, plums, scorched earth and leather are just some of the nuances that flow from this imposing, tannic Barolo. The Le Coste will require quite a bit of patience, but it is shaping up very nicely for the future. Despite its masculine personality, the Le Coste remains essentially a medium-bodied Barolo that captures the weightless power that makes Nebbiolo such a captivating variety. This is another impressive showing for a wine that keeps getting better with each passing vintage.
