Starting with the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Safres, it offers a beautiful perfume of kirsch, melted licorice and flowers to go with a sexy, supple and textured profile on the palate. It’s decidedly 2011 in style (i.e. up-front, sweetly fruited and hedonistic) and should be consumed over the coming decade. Score: 93 points -- Wine Advocate, Aug 2014
Tasting Note: This wine has a beautiful red color purple, and bright reflections. The nose is dominated by aromas of licorice stick, violet, coupled with quince jam and cherries. The mouth is beautiful, expressed with freshness and sweetness. One can discover a complex aroma of candied peaches, jam melons and cherries in syrup. All this gives us a very harmonious wine that will keep for more than 15 years.
