Opening to a light ruby shine, the Comm. G.B. Burlotto 2024 Verduno Pelaverga does not hold back on the distinctive white pepper notes that define this singular grape variety, and they seem especially pronounced in this vintage. The wine is lean and tightly structured, offering plenty of aromatic intrigue with licorice, crushed violet and English tea. Pelaverga is cultivated almost exclusively around Verduno, where it has earned a devoted following for its spicy perfume and delicate frame. I love this wine.
