Starting slightly reductive, the 2019 The Bernard Series Old Vine Chenin Blanc needed some swirling in the glass before awaking aromas of spiced citrus, white tea, yellow apple skin, dusty citrus blossoms and Belgian endive. Medium-bodied, the palate is lively and energetic but delivers a textural and weighted mouthfeel that delivers pleasure and a long, spicy finish. This will be food friendly for years to come.
