It was the Romans who discovered the great wealth of the terroir of Cazal Viel and they were the first to introduce viticulture. Today, Cazal Veil represents the largest independent estate of the Saint-Chinian appellation. The Miquel family has been making wine at Château Cazal Viel since 1791 in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon. This wine is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Colombard, and Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauvignon Blanc lingers on the palate to complete a satisfying finish. Minerality is evident and adds a meaty substance and complexity to a well-balanced, crisp palate of apple, grapefruit, and lemon zest. The finish is equally crisp, refreshing, and clean.
