Padrone is produced in honor of Ray Signorello Sr., a visionary whose life was as full of character as our wines. Padrone is a wine that expresses the utmost quality of the Estate. The grapes for this complex proprietary red wine are sourced from two extremely rocky parts of the estate vineyard with yields of only a mere 1.3 tons per acre.
Tasting Notes
Bright, deep ruby-red. Superripe aromas of cassis, espresso and tarry, chocolatey torrefaction. Fat, silky and densely packed, with liqueur-like berry flavors complicated by gamey and rocky nuances. This very ripe, lush wine really saturates the palate with flavor. Finishes with big, broad, tongue-dusting tannins and a surprisingly restrained sweetness. 91 points, Stephen Tanzer
