"Bright ruby-red. Blackberry, licorice and a whiff of black pepper on the nose. Juicy, fresh and fine-grained, with sweet dark berry fruit enlivened by nicely integrated acidity. This well-balanced wine boasts lovely fruity appeal and little of the greenness shown by so many 2014s. Finishes with notes of licorice and herbs, the firm tannins turning a bit dusty and peppery with air and coating the front teeth. This unpretentious wine can be enjoyed now but should remain fresh for at least a few years."
