The 2012 Chardonnay Russian River (3,900 cases produced) will be a big-time winner. It exhibits copious aromas of tropical fruit and buttery citrus, medium to full body and a flamboyant personality. It should drink nicely for 3-4 years. (RP) (12/ 2013)

Mr. Hobbs is again in peak form with this wonderfully rich, oh- so-deep Chardonnay, and, while the wine earns very high marks for its generous, well-defined, ripe-apple fruit and its sympathetic strain of creamy oak, it earns a deeper nod yet for its brightness and sheer energy. Drink it now if you like, but know that it has very good places to go, and we are comfortable in predicting that it will reveal more range and more layers of richness over the next three or four years.
