The 2016 Prazo de Roriz is a blend of 30% each of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, 15% Tinta Roriz and 25% of various others, all aged for six months in neutral barrels. It comes in at 13.9% alcohol. When first seen at an earlier stage, this was lovely but not particularly surprising. It seems to have improved with a bit more bottle time. It has fleshed out now, showing a little more focus and pop on the finish as well. It is still approachable today, but perhaps it will be better in the spring of 2019. Of the Symington-related values this issue, including under their own name, this (by a small margin) would be my pick—the best intersection of quality and price. I won't guarantee it stays at peak for all of its useful life, but it is a very nice house pour now.
